This week, shopping centre Origo opens a new dining and social oasis – POSTe

Shopping centre Origo is significantly expanding its dining offer, and this week will open a new dining concept – POSTe, a modern, dynamic gastronomic and meeting place. This marks a new stage in Origo’s development, further strengthening its position as the leading and most diverse dining destination in the heart of Riga. POSTe continues Origo’s overarching concept of a journey through time, space, and experience – a place where history meets the present and a diversity of global flavours, creating an inspiring environment for new tastes and encounters. The name POSTe symbolically refers to the building’s historic significance as the former Riga Central Post Office, serving as a bridge between the city’s heritage and its contemporary urban lifestyle.

“The concept of shopping centre Origo is based on the idea of a journey, which serves as the unifying motif reflected in both the architectural and interior design as well as the customer experience. The journey through time is one of the central storylines, honouring the site of the former Riga Central Post Office – once the city’s communication hub and reference point. Today, Origo continues this mission as a vibrant urban epicentre and an essential part of the Riga Central Business District development, where business, shopping, and leisure opportunities meet in one place. The new dining concept POSTe enriches Origo’s story by integrating the postal theme into the food hall concept and interior design, combining gastronomic diversity, creative expression, and respect for the historical environment. At the same time, it adds value for Origo visitors, city residents, and local businesses, creating a sought-after meeting place in the very heart of Riga, where quality and variety form a unique urban experience,” emphasizes Evija Majevska, Commercial Director of Linstow Baltic and shopping centre Origo.

The new dining area POSTe, located on Origo’s 3rd floor, spans more than 840 m², offering visitors a wide range of culinary experiences – from Italian pizzas at Picante Pizza & Birra, to authentic Georgian cuisine at Hačapuri, and refreshing cocktails and snacks from Holy Sips Bar. Fans of traditional home-style meals will enjoy Bistro Riga, while Bao brings an inspiring Asian twist with burgers and poke bowls.

The design and spatial concept developed by Kirson Design Group reflects the visual identity created by the company’s co-founder and lead designer Evija Ķirsone-Slavinska, giving the project a distinctive brand character that balances urban energy with aesthetic calm.

“The POSTe project continues the Origo concept by evolving the story of a journey through time and space. The interior incorporates 1980s design elements and references to global cultures through the postal theme, highlighting the joy of taste exploration and human connection.
POSTe is designed as a modern, open environment where historical architecture blends seamlessly with the energy of central Riga and an international atmosphere, achieving balance between urban vibrancy and refined composure,” notes Evija Ķirsone-Slavinska.

The POSTe concept draws inspiration from the world’s most successful food hall models. In developing the concept, special attention was paid to Origo’s central location, visitor habits, and global culinary trends, creating a dining destination unlike anything previously seen in Latvia. POSTe will stand out not only for its excellent food but also for its unique atmosphere and experience.

POSTe will officially open on October 30 at 10:00 AM on Origo’s 3rd floor, featuring special offers from its dining partners. From 12:00–15:00 and 17:00–21:00, DJ Mixmaster Raitis and the event host will invite visitors to participate in photo activities and contests with exciting prizes. Additionally, starting at 10:00 AM in Origo’s 1st-floor atrium near Costa Coffee, visitors can test their reflexes in the interactive game World of Flavours Challenge, with prizes from POSTe. Throughout the day, DJ Edgars Bercis will ensure a vibrant atmosphere until 7:00 PM.

The new dining zone POSTe is set to become a place where food and connection merge into a single flavour oasis within modern Riga’s Central Business District.

Origo is easily accessible by public transport and private car, offering modern bicycle parking and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Parking has been significantly upgraded in collaboration with mobility service provider Snabb, introducing digital access and payment solutions via mobile app. Additionally, visitors presenting a purchase receipt of at least €15 at the information desk can enjoy one hour of free parking until the end of December, making shopping and event attendance at Origo even more convenient.
